I wanted to take a moment as we begin this new year to say, “Thank You!” Thank you for the ways you give to the ministries of St. Andrew Church. I see many people giving of their time, talents, presence, prayers, and gifts in a variety of ways. Fulfilling the mission and vision of St. Andrew Church would not be possible without faithful friends like you.

As we continue our journey together in faith and community this year, some have been asking about priority areas for financial giving. Obviously, our General Operating Budget is always a priority as most of our ministry endeavors are supported by this giving. While the General Operating Budget funds most of our ministries, there is one area outside of the budget that impacts our local community. This comes from the Pastor's Assistance Fund. While the title presumes this account is utilized by the pastors, the reality is a small team made up of volunteers and staff use these funds to help families in our community with financial needs. Lynne White, Laurie Klenosky, and Tammy Ward have been instrumental in helping families with these resources. We recently learned from our partners at Lafayette Urban Ministry that need in our county has tripled in just one year. In 2023, 151 individuals/families received support from St. Andrew Church. These individuals were able to stay in their homes and keep utilities on because of the kindness and care of people from St. Andrew Church. Each family received on average $180 for their assistance. Thank you for your gifts to the Pastor’s Assistance Fund and for making an impact in the life of families in the Greater Lafayette Area.

If you are looking for another area of ministry to offer financial support along with the General Operating Budget, I encourage you to prayerfully consider giving to the Pastor’s Assistance Fund. This fund will allow our ministry team to respond to urgent needs, offer assistance to those facing challenges, and provide support in times of crisis. Thank you again for your prayerful consideration!

Blessings,

Pastor Brian

Note: As of May 2024, the Pastor's Assistance Fund has been renamed the Community Assistance Fund.
